9/25 is Dolly Parton Day. Nine to five. The calendar did that on purpose, so go find your wig and rhinestones.

Vegas will build a hundred-million-dollar showroom to sell you a feeling. Dolly could do it with a guitar and one good line. On the 25th we are trying it at Dust Las Vegas with drag, live singing, comedy, and whatever else the cast cooks up between now and then.

She came out of a cabin in the Smokies with eleven brothers and sisters and built the whole empire on honesty, work ethic, looking cheap the expensive way, good acts, and musical genius. She was kind to people this world was not kind to, and queer folk clocked that about her decades before it was fashionable. That’s why we celebrate with our own coat of many colors.

A portion of our proceeds goes to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which she started in 1995 because her daddy could not read. A free book in the mail every month for kids under five, and the family never pays a dime.

Show at 8:00, doors at 7:30. Kitchen opens at 6, happy hour runs 4 to 9, and the smart money is at the bar long before the doors. Tip your performers.
