CARDIEL, PSYCHOTIC REACTION show. THREE BLIND BATS - hardcore punk from El Paso, TX formed in the summer of 1988. Described in December 1991 MaximumRockNRoll Zine # 103 as “Big hair whirlwind hardcore”. However, we remain just a straightforward hardcore punk band from El Paso, TX. Fast, loud, bats, skulls, & identifiable artwork are infused into the band’s appeal. 3BB’s history within the El Paso punk scene is recognized in Tara Lopez’s 2024 book ‘Chuco Punk (Sonic Insurgency in El Paso). Rob Schaffino (vocals, guitar), Nick Schaffino (guitar), Pancho Mendoza (guitar), Tejas Amaya (Bass, vocals), & ‘Turbo’ Turcios (Drums) is the recent lineup that breathes life back into the 3 Blind Bats to perform once again after 20 years. ‘Hardcore Punk Bat Music for Bat People’ motto remains unchanged after 36 years.
