Seeing Double Trouble

Las Vegas’ Performing Act ~The DoubleTime Twins~

Written by Tara Babette

Ava and Loretta have been performing since they were young girls. Growing up in New York gave them the opportunity to study underneath some of the best dance and fitness professionals. As they grew into adults both women found themselves at corporate jobs where their only form of creative expression came through dance gigs at night and on the weekends. They decided to give up the comfort of the 9 to 5 and move to Los Angeles to teach and perform full time. After a few years in LA, “We were asked to come to Las Vegas to perform,” they said, “We looked at each other and with curiosity and excitement said, ‘Do you want to move to Las Vegas?’” That is just what they did.

“There is no place like Vegas - no matter if it’s two o'clock in the afternoon or two o'clock in the morning; you can be dazzled by the glitz and glam. Las Vegas is where the showgirl originated.” The Identical Twins boast incredible bodies due to their performance routines. Their tight tummies, strong legs, toned arms, and polished glutes make you wonder, “What is your diet and workout?” Both girls used to be fitness instructors in New York and LA - “There are no secret recipes -It's all about balance.” They studied underneath Richard Simmons and were at his very last workout class. “Richard used to say, ‘love yourself, watch your portions and move your body!’”

The DoubleTime Twins are taking their love for their new home in Las Vegas, their Community and providing a two month fundraising event for The Center of Nevada. You will find them fundraising at Evel Pie on Fremont. The fundraiser is happening all of April and May.

When asked what is one piece of advice you can give to aspiring performing artists they said “Just do it. Do not wait. Get dressed up, dance, do the most and post that video on Instagram and TikTok. If you really love it and it's your dream, it will happen. You just have to go for it and be consistent.”
