3:30-4p optional FREE poetry workshop (all ages are welcome, those who cannot write PLEASE have a parent or writing-able buddy w/ you)

This is a very special show honoring Purple Up! Day— a day to appreciate military kids— featuring local veteran Vegas poet — Rick Writes!!!  Rick Writes is a Spoken Word Performance Artist originally from the Tampa Bay Area but now resides in Las Vegas. He is a member of Vegas’ Spotlight Slam Poetry team. He is a two-time published poet, and has also been featured by Voices in Power, Channel 3 News Las Vegas, & curated the first ever- “Sundown Showcase” at Red Rock Canyon & recently became a regional finalist at the Chicharra Poetry festival in Albuquerque. He tries to bring people into his moments through a mantra he calls “Universally Personally.” He is hopeful to have his name be one of the first ones thought of when you hear “poetry.”  Wear Purple 💜💜💜  Come support local poets, businesses, art & Mojave Springs on  May 17th—mark your calendar!  Thank you to all of the hearts and hands in on this project so far, absolute gratitude to all of the love and work it takes to put on community events!! ❤️❤️❤️ So worth it, come find out! ✨✨
