Prayers- Cholo Goth in the Las Vegas Arts District

Prayers - “known to break hearts, and known to break faces” , delivered both of these things at Swan Dive in the Las Vegas Arts District. The venue was packed, and when they hit the stage, their one-of-a-kind sound and darkly romantic energy took over.

Prayers combines synth-heavy soundscapes (the goth) and gritty street-life melodies (the cholo). Their music sits somewhere between post-punk, darkwave, and urban realism through a Latino lens, an aesthetic they've coined as Cholo Goth.

On this night, they were supported by Malcriada, a moody punk/electronic band from Mexico, and Desmadre, who brought their destructive, West Coast hardcore sound to the audience.
